Century High School is participating in the Cappies this year for the first time. The Cappies, “Critics and Awards Program,” is a program through which high school theater and journalism students are trained as critics, attend shows at other schools, write reviews, and publish those reviews in local newspapers like the Carroll County Times or Eldersburg Eagle.
In May there will be a formal Gala at the Hippodrome in Baltimore for all participating schools to perform a three minute piece of their production. Students will be nominated in various categories. The student critics vote for awards that are presented at a formal Cappies Gala.
